The main goal of “Functional” yoga is to help you create a more sustainable practice, emphasizing the importance of human biomechanics and joint mobility and stability(strength), proving “bendy isn’t always better.” Taking traditional vinyasa poses, we “modify” them, for a new perspective, taking into account human anatomy and healthy posture purposes. Class starts with attention to the breath, moving through core focused floor exercises, and gradually making our way to more balance/standing poses etc. The teacher will use anatomy and alignment focused ques in order to help make healthy postural shifts. Class will wind down with a tension relieving cool down and a short but effective savasana. * Functional Flow is an all levels and bodies welcome class.* Remember to bring your mat (if you have one) and water bottle. We have filtered water available at Yoga Barn to refill cups.
