This is a birthday song that I wrote when my eldest child was seven. It was a special cuddle time at my parent's house. Many of our songs have a beautiful cuddle or nights and nights of cuddles that come with them.
We were learning about the earth and how day and night, seasons and the year happen. Of course, the conversation came around to how Nev had been around the earth seven whole times.
While this isn't the song the crowd sings during a cake celebration knows, this has been a nice tradition for us and the day I recorded these, my sweet little friend Ace turned eight. and I (Kathryn) got to play the video for him so he knew his friend Frolic was thinking of him.
There is a recording for each year up to Ace's age, and then there is a "Many time" around the sun recording.
Plenty of activities exist that enhance a song like this. I've included one below, but you can find others.

A Little Birthday Ritual
Pair this song with a little ritual like the kiddo carrying an earth model walking around an object that looks like the sun. Child walks around the sun once per each year of their life so far. Child could walk with people who are important to him/ her/ them.
🌎To make the earth: two green and three blue scarves crumpled into a ball and wrapped with a bit of twine so that all the colors show. You could also wrap them around a baseball.
☀️To make the sun mode: This could be some scarves (two yellow, a red and an orange scarf) crumpled up and tied with some twine or rhythm.
Obviously, this simple song contains concept that introduces or furthers aspects of earth science.
Visit your local book seller or library for books that introduce or enhance these themes. I'll ask my folks at Old Fox Books for some recommendations.

It's a bit drafty in here, and I'm okay with that, because you have it in your capable hands right now and you know that your voice does not need to be perfect when you sing it to your kiddo. You singing with all of your you-ness gives your kiddo permission to sing and dance with their very own voices, and their very own body too in all of their "theyness". Your voice is the most magical, after all.
